The 2008 Nayrouz Skit Showdown was held on Friday 12 September 2008.

St. Demiana polled the highest amount of points but had points deducted for going overtime, finishing 3rd!

Congratulations to all those involved in the skit, and we hope 2009 proves even better!

The annual Inter-Churches Sports Competition begins Sunday the 30th December 2007!

Sports to be contested by all Sydney churches include Mens Soccer, Under 17s Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Mens Volleyball, Under 17s boys table tennis and Mens table tennis.

HG Bishop Daniel graced us with his first mass in our english Church, St. John the Beloved on Sunday 21 October 2007.

The annual ICCC (Inter-State Coptic Churches Competition) Weekened will be held from Friday September 28th till Sunday 30th September.

The weekend will start with a combined youth meeting at St. Abu-Sefein Church from 8pm, a one-day soccer comp on Saturday concluded by a reception dinner on Sunday night.

Coptic churches from Melbourne, Adelaide & Brisbane will be attending. You are most welcome to along & join in the fun!

The annual Coptic Games Festival between the Churches will be held over two weekends from 18th February 2007 till 25th February 2007. Games include Indoor Soccer (Boys/Girls), Volleyball (Boys/Girls) & Basketball (Boys/Girls). Cost is $10 per player.

St. Demiana's martyrdom will be celebrated with a spiritual revival (nahda) from 15/01/2007 to 21/01/2007. The topic for the revival is 'The Proverbs of Minas'. Mr Michael Antoun has been selected to represent NSW in the Over 50's Mens Table Tennis team at the Australian Veterans Open Table Tennis Championship being held at the Kingston in Hobart, Tasmania from 14th October to 21st October. St Demiana & St. Athanasius's Church wishes Mr Antoun all the best.
